A SYMPHONY IN COBALT BLUE AND RED

A SYMPHONY IN COBALT BLUE AND RED

An old-world technique for new scenarios

A new cobalt blue finish with striking touches of red dresses the 18th century Medici sideboard in intriguing new colour contrasts.

An old-world technique which is lovingly carried out by the skilful hands that decorate all RG products.

A blue originating from a secret formula, a mix of pigments which, when mixed, give life to the RG Cobalt; this is an exclusive shade, just like the unique and exclusive ability to decorate furniture and furnishings with repeated passages of strictly water-based paints on sculpted, carved and perfectly polished wood. A long, patient and complex process: starting with the red, an intense red applied by hand over and over again until achieving a deep, rich, vibrant colour to cover exteriors and interiors. And  then moving on to the blue, which covers the outside of the furniture like a regal mantle.

And finally,  delicately smoothed by hand using fine grain sandpaper, gently caressing the surfaces and scrolls of the woodcarvings, a slight hint of red emerges from the blue, giving plasticity and body to the ornamental details.

Opening the doors of the sideboard, here is the surprise: from the blue emerges the full, glowing red of the interior.

A water-based matt varnish seals and protects the colour, rendering  its beauty eternal.
Tradition, artisan skills unchanged over the centuries, new intuitions, colours, materials that merge and materialise in the new, inspiring path that the company has taken. It thus combines its historical ability to re-edit philologically perfect products with the new demands of the market and new trends, without detracting from the designs, but leaving them to gleam with new, unusual and exquisite charm.

Because a cobalt blue finish combined with gold and silver, with the red of the interiors as well as with the silk of the shades and the velvet of the interiors, can create dreamlike atmospheres and give new, unexpected and breathtaking emotions.
